Service
I consider service to be an important part of my life both now as a graduate student and in the future as faculty. As a mathematician, I consider one of my roles to try and interest students of all ages and backgrounds in math. To that extent, I have served in a variety of positions encouraging grade school, high school, undergraduate, and even graduate students in math by showing them the various ways in which mathematical learning can be made less rote and more exciting and relatable to everyday life.
I have engaged in service work both academically/professionally and as a member of my community. I have found that both aspects of service are important in order to have a healthy impact on the world around me.
